NY Times taps WSJ’s Yuan as editor

The New York Times has hired Elizabeth Yuan as a senior staff editor on the flexible editing desk.

Yuan joins from The Wall Street Journal, where she has worked for 9 years, recently as a publishing editor.

Before that, she was an interactive news writer for WSJ.com.

She has also worked at CNN for 14 years, holding various roles, including video journalist, associate writer, writer, freelance journalist and duty editor/digital producer.

Yuan has two bachelor’s degrees — one in English and one in French — from Columbia University and a M.S. in broadcast journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
