New show on CNBC to interview global players

January 20, 2006

The press release states: “Sabine Christiansen, Germany’s most watched and most important political television presenter, has joined CNBC Europe to produce and host a series of 12 new programs that will be broadcast around the world on CNBC.

“The new 60-minute program, titled ‘Global Players with Sabine Christiansen,’ will consist of hard-hitting dialogue with top international political and business leaders. Each of these special programs will be produced on location at key international events around the world.”

This is the second new show that the business news cable network has announced recently. The first was an interview show with former Disney CEO Michael Eisner. The show will air in the United States, but there is no date in the release as to when the new show will begin. Christiansen has interviewed Bill Gates in the past, according to the release.

It seems as if CNBC is making a lot of changes to its programming and its talent to prepare for the competition from the upcoming Fox Business Channel.
