New biz magazine launching in Utah
The company that handles printing, advertising and circulation tasks for The Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret Morning News plans to launch a quarterly business magazine next month called Utah CEO.
MediaOne of Utah, which is jointly owned by MediaNews Group, parent company of The Tribune, with a 58 percent stake, and the LDS Church, which owns the Morning News, plans to send out 30,000 copies of the first magazine, according to a fact sheet on the company’s home page.
Approximately 25,000 copies will be direct mailed to company executives, entrepreneurs and others. That mailing list is being obtained through government reports of the top 20,000 businesses in the state. Another 5,000 copies will be mailed and delivered to hotels and business lobbies.
The publication will also have a web presence at utahceomagazine.com, although a check of that site Saturday morning noted that it is not up and running yet.
The first issue is expected to have stories on technology helping to open new markets and brand equity, and contributing writers will include Sen. Bob Bennett and Wells Fargo economist Kelly Matthews.
The magazine says its target audience is between 25 and 54 years with an average household income of $100,000.
