Gopal Ratnam, the Bloomberg News national security reporter who was laid off in August after more than seven years with the company, has been hired to cover the same beat for Foreign Policy.

“I’m excited at the opportunity to work at Foreign Policy and cover an expanded national security beat at a time when so much of American foreign policy is in flux,” said Ratnam in a message to Talking Biz News.

He’s one of the few of the two dozen staffers laid off in August who has found a job.

Niharika Acharya, a producer for “Political Capital with Al Hunt” since July 2010, was also laid off in August. She is now a producer for Fox News, according to her LinkedIn page.

In addition, Ellen Uchimiya, who was Bloomberg Television Washington bureau chief, is apparently going to work for CBS. She came from the Fox News Channel in 2010.

Meanwhile, others appear to be trying to find work.

Jonathan Salant, a political reporter and former winner of the Dirksen Award for Distinguished Reporting on Congress, told Talking Biz News that he is still looking.

Other Bloomberg News reporters who were laid off said they are still looking as well, while a review of the LinkedIn profiles of others show that they too are still trying to find jobs or haven’t updated their profiles to show that they’ve left Bloomberg.
