The News and Tribune of Southern Indiana has hired Danielle Grady as the economic development and business reporter.

Elizabeth Beilman of the paper writes, “Grady, a 21-year-old native of Madison, is a recent journalism graduate of Ball State University. She worked at the Indianapolis Star this summer as a Pulliam fellow and interned with the News and Tribune in the summer of 2015.

“”We waited for more than a year to get Danielle here. We have a history with her as an intern – we know how good she can be,’ Publisher Bill Hanson said. ‘Her work ethic and her diverse abilities led me to do something I’ve never done before – intentionally hold a position open that long for one person. That speaks volumes about our confidence in what Danielle brings to our editorial team.’

“Grady said she was initially drawn to the News and Tribune because of its location.

“‘I wanted to work close to home because I really do enjoy Southern Indiana,’ she said. ‘I’ve been to other parts of Indiana, but I honestly think this part is probably the best place to be.'”
