Houston Chronicle bringing back standalone biz section
The Houston Chronicle will bring back its standalone business section on Tuesday, writes editor in chief Nancy Barnes.
Barnes writes that the change comes “as we renew our commitment to deliver more business news and information about the economic engine of Houston.
“In just a few weeks, our new business columnist will make his debut in the section, as well. Chris Tomlinson, the Associated Press‘ former supervisory correspondent in Austin, will bring his probing brand of reporting and fresh insights to the energy industry, Houston’s many Fortune 500 companies and the entrepreneurial spirit that defines Texas businesses. Tomlinson, who also is a native Texan, will begin in early May.”
The section had cut its print stock listings in 2006 from three pages to one. Its longtime columnist Loren Steffy left a year ago.
