E&E News has hired Jason Plautz to cover the West for its Energywire publication.
His writing has appeared in Science, High Country News, Reveal, Pacific Standard, HuffPost, Undark, Greenwire, Ars Technica, National Journal, The Atlantic, 5280, Mental_floss, Washingtonian and Smart Cities Dive.
He participated in the Ted Scripps Fellowship for Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado in Boulder in 2017-2018. For his reporting on a fracking explosion for High Country News with The Story Group, Plautz received the 2019 Thomas L. Stokes award from the National Press Foundation.
Plautz is an adjunct instructor at the University of Colorado College of Media, Communication and Information.
