March 16, 2010

James Monteleone, a business reporter at the Farmington Daily Times in northeast New Mexico, has been named the editor of the Four Corners Business Journal, a weekly sister publication.

The Journal distributes into Colorado, Arizona and Utah.

A story on the Daily Times site states, “Monteleone will have the additional title of business editor for The Daily Times, and for the immediate future he will continue as the newspaper’s reporter res-ponsible for coverage of county government.

“Daily Times Editor Troy Turner made the announcement Monday.

“‘Anyone who has worked with Jim before knows that he takes his work very seriously and that he is intent on being a good journalist,’ Turner said. ‘Furthermore, anyone who reads the newspaper often already is aware that Jim has an excellent grasp of local business news, what it means and how to look more in-depth into business developments and trends.’

“Previous Journal editor Debra Mayeux recently resigned, saying she would like to spend more time with her family.”
