Dow Jones/WSJ seek editor on hub desk

Deborah Brewster, the deputy managing editor at The Wall Street Journal in charge of hiring, sent out the following announcement to the staff on Tuesday afternoon:

Following the departure of Mike Reid, Dow Jones newswires has a vacancy for a senior editor who will work closely with the WSJ. It may be that someone at the WSJ, who is already familiar with the Journal’s structure and personnel, would be suited to the position and might want to apply. The position reports to Neal Lipschutz, the managing editor of newswires. Chaz Repak is available to talk more about it if you have any queries.

Dow Jones Newswires seeks an Editor, Global News Integration, who will serve as Newswires’ representative on the New York News Hub. The successful candidate will work with editors at The Wall Street Journal print and online, MarketWatch and other Dow Jones publications to ensure timely coverage of breaking news, collaboration among news teams, and quality of coverage. The ideal candidate is an editor with experience across asset classes, some global experience, and a working knowledge of Dow Jones Newswires’ structure and journalists. We’re looking for a newshound who is dedicated to generating top-quality coverage around the clock and enthusiastic about working with colleagues across the Dow Jones global empire.
