CoinDesk deputy editor in chief Zack Seward is leaving the newsroom after three and a half years.

He will continue to appear on CoinDesk TV and its podcasts as a contributor.

“It’s time for me to make a change,” he wrote on Twitter. “Riding the crypto news cycle is fun but taxing. I’m very excited to test my skills in another context. Here’s to new pathways, market carnage be damned.”

Prior to joining CoinDesk in 2018, he was the editor-in-chief of Technical.ly, a network focused on local tech communities on the U.S. East Coast. Before that, Seward worked as a reporter covering business and technology for a pair of NPR member stations, WHYY in Philadelphia and WXXI in Rochester, New York.

Seward originally hails from San Francisco and went to college at the University of Chicago. He worked at the PBS NewsHour in Washington, D.C., before attending Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism.
