California papers making changes

February 25, 2007

Two California papers announced changes to their business coverage in the Sunday paper.

At the Napa Valley Register, Bill Kisliuk mentioned a number of changes to its coverage, including in the business section.

He wrote, “Local business coverage will play a more prominent role in the paper. The work of our business team, Mike Treleven and Jennifer Huffman, will shift from page B1 to the A section.

“More local business stories will appear on A1. Popular features including ‘Business Buzz,’ and ’10 Questions’ will appear inside the front section.”

At the Torrance Daily Breeze in southern California, they’re cutting stock listings.

A short item in Sunday’s paper stated, “Business coverage moves to the back of the B section, beginning on Page B8. Sunday stock listings, a wrap up for the week, including the most active stocks, are now on one page. Additional stock listings and specific stock quotes can be found by going to www.dailybreeze.com and clicking on ‘stocks’ on our home page.”
