Scott Trubey, who had covered banking and finance for the Atlanta Business Chronicle, has been hired to cover the same beat for the daily newspaper in Atlanta, the Journal-Constitution.

The announcement was made to the Business Chronicle staff on Monday morning.

Trubey is a University of Georgia graduate who worked for the Augusta Chronicle from 2005 to 2008 before joining the Business Chronicle.

Matt Kempner, the business editor at the Journal-Constitution, confirmed the hire.

In an e-mail to this staff, Kempner writes, “We have a strong, new banking reporter on the way. Scott Trubey, who is currently the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s banking reporter, will join us in July. Scott honed his specialized banking reporting chops at the ABC and, I know he will do well building on that experience for us. He brings strong local sourcing, good understanding of the industry and tenacity to break news.

“Scott previously covered aviation and hospitality for the ABC. Prior to that, he was with the Augusta Chronicle, where over time he was a bureau chief, editor and staff writer. (He also did photography, art design, web design and blogging.)”
