Yahoo Finance seeks to maintain its position as the biggest and best business news platform on the planet. We are a fast-paced high quality organization that is redefining and disrupting this business environment. Our platform aggregates and produces world class content both in terms of video and text. We seek to leverage all of Yahoo’s platforms to create and even bigger footprint for our content.

A Lot About You:

You are an enterprising journalist or producer with experience in the field of business journalism. You take initiative and are a self-starter. You work well with others. You have high journalistc standards. You love to break news, get scoops and do big interviews. You have strong social media skills. You work well with a team in a multidisciplinary environment

Your Day:

  • Write stories
  • Break news
  • Land big interviews
  • Engage in social media
  • Video reporting

You Must Have:

  • A Bachelors degree, ideally with a degree in Journalism or English
  • Experience in the field of business journalism
  • Strong journalistic standards
  • Be a self-starter with high initiative
  • Social media skills
  • A love for the color purple

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
