Yahoo Finance seeks associate producers

Yahoo Finance is looking for associate producers. We produce three live shows per day (9:25a, 11:45a and 3:55p) and plan to expand them to cover more of the trading day.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with producers and show host to produce two one hour live news programs

  • Research segment ideas and segment information as directed

  • Pitching and booking guests

  • Greeting guests

  • Running prompter and working in control room

  • Uploading videos after show taping

  • Writing copy for live closing bell show

  • Using/creating graphic elements and video clips

  • Help oversee edits for taped projects

  • Helping with social media

Qualifications:

  • Experience in business news or a keen interest in the subject matter for our live market coverage
  • Strong writing skills required
  • Must be a self-starter who enjoys working on deadline

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
