“Heard on the Street,” the Wall Street Journal’s home for financial analysis and commentary, is seeking a columnist to be based in Hong Kong. The coverage areas can be tailored to the experience of the candidate and to the news of the day.

“Heard on the Street” is a team in New York, London, Hong Kong and San Francisco that writes sophisticated, quick and sharp commentary on markets, companies and economies. We question conventional wisdom and dig deeply into the numbers to give readers deep insights into business and investing. We have exposed scams, highlighted flaws in corporate strategy and, occasionally, tilted at windmills.

Candidates should have strong markets and finance knowledge and be willing to take clear views on topics backed by solid reporting and analysis. Experience analyzing and presenting data is important, as is the ability to write concisely and quickly. “Heard on the Street” columnists work closely with news reporters, adding their expertise and sourcing on big stories.
