WSJ’s “Heard on the Street” seeks a European columnist

The Wall Street Journal’s “Heard on the Street” column is seeking an experienced, energetic writer to cover European companies.

The position, which is based in London, is part of a global team of reporters who write analysis and commentary on business, the economy and markets.

The successful candidate will understand business strategy and finance and be able to quickly analyze corporate news while writing more in depth pieces of commentary. We are seeking a deeply sourced writer who can add value to the Journal’s news coverage and isn’t afraid to take a point of view.

Experience covering deals, regulations and industries for a global audience is a plus.

The position reports to Stephen Wilmot, Heard on the Street’s London editor, and Ken Brown, the Heard’s global editor.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
