WSJ/Dow Jones seeks ag reporter in Hong Kong

April 12, 2015

Posted by Chris Roush

Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal are looking for a reporter hungry to cover Asia’s agricultural markets.

The goal on the beat is to break market-moving news through exclusive stories and scoops of insight. The reporter will be expected to develop deep sources including traders, producers, consumers and analysts, so that they can bring the most up-to-date insight and information to our global readers.

The role will include filing market reports and market talk items, but there will be ample opportunity for the reporter to write longer stories. The reporter will be expected to find imaginative ways to tell the WSJ’s global readership about new trends and developments in how Asia consumes and produces agricultural commodities.

The reporter will be part of our Asia commodities team and will work closely with reporters in the region as well as in New York and London.

We are looking for a reporter who is at home writing both short and long-form articles, comfortable both flashing headlines and delving into market data. Experience building deep sources and understanding of commodity markets are musts.
