The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires are looking for a reporter to cover U.S. regional banks.
The reporter, who will be based in New York, will cover the banks as part of a beat that is central to the Journal and Dow Jones as it encompasses the country’s largest lenders who are removed from Wall Street and in many ways more closely connected to economic conditions on the ground.
The reporter will cover strategy, regulation, deals, people and more, delivering everything from data-driven investigations to quirky profiles. The goal on the beat is to break news, both exclusive stories and scoops of insight.
The reporter will work closely with our other banking reporters in New York and throughout the world on projects and investigations. We are looking for a reporter who is equally comfortable pulling a crucial nugget out of an earnings release and spinning a yarn about a budding scandal.
Experience building deep sources and a strong understanding of banking and markets are preferred.
