WSJ seeks video producer

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a highly creative, experienced line producer with excellent editorial judgment to oversee daily live news and features shows.

This position will work with the Executive Producer to help shape the overall editorial direction, look and feel of the shows. The producer will work with various reporters and editors across WSJ’s global network to develop segments for the programs. The producer will also be required to book external guests for the shows on various topics. The producer needs to be experienced in breaking news and quickly respond to coverage of significant events.

The producer will help develop concepts and ideas to help increase the overall production value of the video broadcasts and help drive traffic for the videos using social media, SEO and other strategies.

Other requirements:

  • Minimum of three to five years producing live news for digital media and/or television.
  • Line producer and control room experience.
  • Excellent writing skills and editorial judgment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to make quick decisions while working under pressure.
  • Produce taped pieces as needed.
  • Solid understanding of digital media environment.
  • Must be a team player and able to work with multiple departments and job functions to achieve end results.
  • Competency and understanding of editing systems.
