WSJ seeks startups reporter

The Wall Street Journal seeks an aggressive, incisive reporter to cover the world of startups.

Part of the technology team in San Francisco, this reporter will help pull back the curtain on pre-IPO companies and show readers what’s behind the tech boom: which companies are likely to become viable, lasting businesses, and which are likely to flame out.

The reporter will work closely with a group of colleagues to shed light on the strategies, tactics and machinations that have led to ballooning valuations, and describe the people–entrepreneurs, employees, and others–behind this trend.

This job requires someone who can find stories, not wait for them to come, and who is an excellent team player. Experience covering business and finance is a must, and strong data skills are a big plus.

Applications should include a resume, cover letter, and up to five published clips.
