The Wall Street Journal is looking for a talented journalist to serve as a blogger for Speakeasy, the Journal’s culture site.
A primary part of this reporter’s job would be producing and posting online articles about the arts, entertainment, media and celebrities written by other journalists at WSJ.com, and selecting and cropping photos to illustrate online stories. This journalist would also play a role writing and reporting text and video blog posts about arts and culture stories. Candidates should be adept at shooting video, social media, and quickly mastering new digital platforms.
We’re looking for a journalist with wide-ranging knowledge in arts and pop culture, a passion for breaking news, a smart and witty writing style, and a keen interest in recapping TV shows, covering celebrity events, interviewing entertainers, attending concerts and exploring cultural debates. This person would be working as part of a small staff and therefore should be a team player willing to take on a number of production-related tasks, such as live-blogging. The staffer will also have the opportunity to write for the print Wall Street Journal.
