WSJ seeks senior video journalist

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a senior video journalist with exceptional scripting, editing and producing skills.

This person will be responsible for producing short, engaging, documentary-style video stories as well as long-form projects, and tailored for mobile, social and digital audiences. The job requires an extremely organized self-starter who can manage multiple projects at once in various stages of production, often on tight deadlines, as well as someone who can translate print stories into entertaining video packages.

The ideal candidate can also coach reporter-shooters around the world through the video process, developing shot lists and advising on shooting, writing or rewriting scripts, as well as assigning freelance videographers.Experience at a leading news organization is preferred. We will consider candidates who show a strong innovation streak and can navigate effectively in a high-stakes, top-tier newsroom. Based in New York.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Advanced knowledge of Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere

Deep understanding of DSLR-based workflow

Skills in After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator a plus

Strong interest in innovative video storytelling and strategic thinking around social media

Familiarity with third-party footage
