WSJ seeks senior reporter to cover financial markets

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a senior reporter to cover financial markets in New York.

You will join a team that delivers fast, smart news and thoughtful, long-form explanatory journalism on markets and on the people and forces that influence them. We are looking for an experienced financial journalist who can write stories of high complexity and broad reach.

We would give preference to reporters with a demonstrated ability to work with the large datasets common in markets. We would also give preference to a reporter experienced in economics coverage who can tie markets, monetary policy and the macroeconomy together. You should be comfortable writing about several asset classes, and indeed comfortable thinking across them. We need someone flexible enough to develop specialized knowledge as the needs of the markets news cycle demand.

This job reports to an editor on the Finance team.
