The correspondent will work as part of a team covering corporate news and must be able to bring depth and range to a subject that runs the gamut from established multinationals to upstart Chinese companies, from big-box retailers to luxury brands.
The position, to be based in Beijing or Shanghai, calls for someone with a nose for scoops and an eye for big stories. The reporter should be agile enough to handle breaking, market-moving news and then move on to deep dives, rich with authoritative analysis and memorable reporting.
The consumer beat covers an essential part of the China story. We’re looking for an experienced hand. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in corporate or economic coverage.
A collegial attitude is a must, as is an aptitude for trend-spotting. Chinese language ability is a plus.
