WSJ seeks reporter to cover BlackRock and Vanguard

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a reporter to cover two of Wall Street’s biggest investors: BlackRock and Vanguard.

The two firms together manage $11 trillion and hold tremendous sway over Wall Street. Their index funds and ETFs sit in the investment accounts of millions and millions of Americans. Their size gives them enormous power over corporate boards.

We need an industrious, sophisticated reporter on this beat — one who is able to think creatively and expansively about what these firms are and what they will become. BlackRock and Vanguard pioneered passive indexing, but they do so much more. They are now weighing in on corporate governance and social change through their votes on corporate boards — pay equality, guns, the environment.

These firms have become crucial parts of the fabric of finance in a very short period of time. What is next? It’s an insanely exciting beat that gives you an entree into practically every corner of finance: corporate governance, the future of investing, retirement in America and much more. We want you to break news and chronicle the power of the big investor.

To apply, go here.
