WSJ seeks reporter in Mexico

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a versatile correspondent to cover the world of business in Mexico.

Mexico is the U.S.’s third-largest trading partner, and gaining market share north of the border with every passing month. It is now the world’s fourth biggest exporter of cars, boasts North America’s largest bread and milk companies, as well as global players in telco (along with one of the world’s five richest men) and the world’s largest Spanish language media company.

There are lots of different tales to tell and deeds to unearth in an economy that is fast integrating with the U.S. and Canada and opening up its energy marketbut still has pockets of the 19th Century.

The ideal candidate can write for allof our venues, range from reporting the fastest news to the deepest enterprise, and bring to life the colorful characters in Mexican firms and society. Spanish is a must.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
