WSJ seeks reporter for real-time news desk

The Wall Street Journal seeks an experienced reporter for its Real-Time news desk.

This reporter would write breaking news articles on a wide range of corporate news developments – including quarterly earnings reports, mergers and acquisitions, and important executive changes, among other news.

The reporter could also be asked to produce blog posts and contribute reporting on general news stories . The person in this position will primarily be producing articles for Dow Jones Newswires and WSJ.com, helping ensure that the biggest breaking-news stories are presented in the fastest, most-effective manner.

This journalist must be adept at compiling various strings of information and crafting first-rate news stories for prominent display on our digital platforms.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
