WSJ seeks regulatory reporter in DC

The Washington bureau of The Wall Street Journal is seeking a proven journalist to take on a high-profile financial regulatory beat, including consumer finance regulation and Washington’s focus on non-bank financial firms like payday lenders, asset managers, debt collectors and others.

This beat involves covering one of the newest agencies, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as well as violations of consumer financial protection laws and efforts to rein in some of the shadow banks that have become a crucial part of Wall Street’s financing engine.

The idea reporter will be able to break news and write big-picture pieces that help readers understand how Washington’s efforts are impacting Wall Street.
