The Wall Street Journal seeks a reporter with a taste for adventure, intellectual curiosity and the guts for reporting on some of Wall Street’s biggest deals and dealmakers.
The post is covering the private equity business – a trillion-dollar asset class still run by a small group of chieftains from New York. This reporter should be comfortable reporting on these firms – be it Blackstone, Carlyle, Apollo, or KKR – as corporations unto themselves.
She or he should also have a nose for breaking deals stories, as well as explaining the economics and dynamics of the private-equity world as it undergoes a big transition.
Above all, this person should be interested in how some of the world’s most sophisticated investors make money, use their influence, and constantly adapt to the market conditions around them.
Applications should include a resume, cover letter and up to five published clips.
