WSJ seeks night editor for U.S. news

The Wall Street Journal’s U.S. News section is seeking an experienced editor (a minimum of 6 years at a daily newspaper or similar) to run its desk at night.

This person will work closely with the U.S. Editor to coordinate the publishing of politics, economics and general news in real-time formats and for the print version of The Wall Street Journal.

This is a critical and exciting job with much responsibility and autonomy. The right person should be able to guide reporters during breaking news; edit copy so that it’s fair, clear and
accessible; move quickly to produce polished stories for online; and work closely with the layout staff so that stories and photos for the print edition of the Journal look great and convey the right message.

Strong news judgment and a cool head under pressure are musts. Work nights are normally Sunday through Thursday, starting at 3:30 p.m., with Fridays and Saturdays off. Knowledge of
Methode is a plus.

Please contact U.S. Editor Jennifer Forsyth at Jennifer.Forsyth@wsj.com immediately if you are interested.
