The Wall Street Journal is recruiting for a news editor, based in London.
The successful candidate will be required to edit both spot news stories and features filed from the Middle East and Africa. The task ranges from proof reading in some cases to rewriting completely in others. Subjects range from politics, economics and warfare and to human interest.
Key responsibilities are listed below;
- Edit breaking news stories from European bureaus when necessary.
- Publish stories to WSJ.com, including writing headlines and selecting photographs.
- Help coordinate coverage between the Journal’s bureaus in Dubai and Johannesburg on the one hand, and New York, on the other.
- Help prepare news digests for both WSJ.com and the Journal’s print edition.
Experience required;
- Considerable and proven reporting and editing experience.
- Extensive experience editing stories covering the Middle East and Africa regions.
- Extensive proven experience editing for print and mobile.
- Experience using Methode publishing system.
