WSJ seeks multimedia producer in DC

Wall Street JournalThe Wall Street Journal’s Washington bureau is seeking an enterprising online producer to join our WSJ Pro Central Banking and Pro Financial Regulation teams.

The producer would work alongside our Pro editors to help manage the Pro Central Banking and Pro Financial Regulation newsletters and websites on WSJ.com, deploy photos and graphics, and advance our reach through creative use of SEO, social media, newsletters and other tools.

The producer also would be prepared to administer to any Pro products and to assist in other bureau-wide digital missions, including live blogs, livestream coverage, livestream video chats and livestream news events.

Among the duties:

• Place breaking news and features throughout the day on the ProCB and ProFR pages. Make sure the article pages are complete in Methode, and add what’s missing — i.e. social headlines, robust alt summaries, related reading, photos and relevant interactive graphics.

• Help produce the daily Pro Finreg morning newsletter, including in the final stage ahead of the7 a.m.publishing time. Duties including preparing newsletter components and formatting for publishing.

• Tweet live news and maintain 24-hour queues for the @WSJCentralBanks account. Prepare tweets and strategy notes for planned news and event coverage for use by the New York social team, which relies on us feeding them content. Study traffic and engagement patterns to determine strategy, workflow and best practices.

• Work with events teams to coordinate and produce Pro CB and ProFR events.

• Train reporters and desk editors in publishing workflows and web best practices.

The ideal candidate would have experience covering central banking, economics and financial regulation, using social media in creative new ways to reach readers, and working as part of a reporting team.
