WSJ seeks metals reporter

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a high-energy reporter to cover gold, copper and other metals on the markets team in New York for online, print and other platforms.

The ideal candidate will be able to explain how seismic global forces such as China’s financial regulation and the U.S. normalization of interest rates drive market prices and ripple through the global economy.

This person will break news on the traders, lenders and institutional investors who scored big or suffered in booms or busts, and write quirky features about how metals markets affect our daily lives.

The reporter will work closely with others to connect the dots across markets on broad economic trends, and contribute unique ideas for storytelling and visual components.

Applications should include a resume and cover letter.
