The WSJ Opinion section is seeking a Junior Editorial Page Writer to join its team.

You’ll work closely with the editorial writing and editing staff, specifically working on “Review & Outlook” editorials. You will conduct thorough and in-depth research on and detailed fact-checking across every topic we cover. Your work will serve as an additional buttress behind the strong, well-reported editorials we publish. You will also be expected to contribute editorials and features from time to time.

You should be skilled in both independent research and reporting, obsessed with details and skilled with sources. You’ll develop sources and expertise in a variety of subject areas; have the opportunity to contribute profiles and features for the Opinion section under your own byline; and take on other tasks as needed for the print and digital editions of the Opinion section in the Journal.

Throughout the week, you’ll also work to conceptualize, compile and write a weekly newsletter; this new offering will be an insightful, intelligent guide to the best commentary and analysis from the week. It will be both a look back on the top analysis of the week as well as a source for exclusive insights from the Opinion section. You should be able to write well, framing opinions and arguments on every topic in a confident, concise and authoritative manner.

You’ll be responsible for working independently throughout the week to ultimately deliver a “markup” newsletter to the Editor every Saturday, to be distributed to readers on Sunday mornings.
