“Heard on the Street” is the Journal’s home for sharp commentary and analysis on business, finance, economics and markets. We are seeking an editor with extensive knowledge in these areas who can guide reporters to produce timely, provocative columns for a global audience.
London is an increasingly important bureau for the Heard because reporters cover global beats and take advantage of their time zone to deliver smart columns to readers in the U.S. morning.
The ideal candidate would have deep experience with reporting and commentary on business and finance. The person should be quick to jump on news and be able to find creative ways to cover running stories.
The editor will collaborate closely with colleagues in Hong Kong and New York and manage reporters in other bureaus when necessary. Experience with digital publishing is also a plus.
The position reports to Ken Brown, the “Heard on the Street” editor in New York.
