WSJ seeks graphics reporter in New York

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a reporter to join its award-winning graphics team in New York.

The ideal candidate will have a background in news reporting with a focus on writing and researching for a broad range of topics. In this position, reporters are responsible for conducting interviews, developing sources and writing stories that combine text with visuals to explain news that matters to WSJ subscribers.

The right candidate will have a demonstrable track record reporting and producing data-driven stories at a major news organization.

While our graphics reporters often focus on writing, the ideal candidate should be comfortable thinking visually, bringing a passion about the powers of data visualization, video, illustration, and other visual forms to their storytelling.

Since the majority of our work relates to data, the right candidate will also be able to mine data using Excel or other technologies, uncover stories in large datasets, and work with sources to expand upon his or her findings.
