The Wall Street Journal is seeking a general assignment reporter based in Los Angeles to cover the nation’s second largest city and the world’s sixth-largest economy — with an emphasis on Southern California, Arizona and Nevada.
In addition to handling big breaking news in the West without breaking a sweat, the ideal reporter will identify trends driving a region that continues to fascinate the world, and defines so much the nation’s politics, culture and economy.
The beat will focus on telling the story of the West through an economic lens — Asian billions building downtown Los Angeles; Arizona and Nevada’s attempts to court the tech industry; how states manage their explosive growth and strained infrastructure.
