WSJ seeks Europe finance reporter in London

The Wall Street Journal seeks a London-based reporter to cover the vast terrain of global finance.

This position will use the eminently livable city of London as a listening post for international capital flows, writing about institutions including banks, hedge funds, private equity firms, asset managers, insurance companies and sovereign wealth funds.

The job requires being as comfortable breaking news as delivering deeply reported investigations and narrative pieces. We want to identify the trends roiling finance, dig deep into the most consequential institutions, and uncover information readers won’t find anywhere else.

The preferred candidate will have several years of journalism experience and a demonstrated skill at demystifying the world of money. There should be a deep curiosity in telling relatable stories about banking, finance, Brexit, companies and investing. The person should have a willingness to learn about unknown corners of the financial world.

The ability to use visual tools to transmit the best of our financial journalism is key. The person should be eager, flexible, fast, good natured and want to work on the Journal’s vibrant finance team, which spans three continents. Candidates should submit a resume and up to 10 clips.
