The Wall Street Journal seeks an experienced economics writer to craft a compelling daily newsletter and create distinctive digital-first journalism including clean, simple charts and smart analysis.
The right candidate would delve deeply the world of economic data and research, synthesizing the best of Dow Jones’s coverage and offering unique insight in a fast, engaging daily read.
We need a journalist who’s comfortable interpreting—and charting—the latest data from the Labor Department, delights in fresh working papers from the National Bureau of Economic Research and routinely flips through analysts’ notes for new insight.
We’re looking for an independent thinker who can research and write with minimal supervision, but who loves to trade ideas with the rest of our close-knit team. We prefer deep familiarity with Wall Street Journal coverage. We have a strong internal candidate, but welcome new ideas.
Applications should include a resume, cover letter and up to five published clips.
