WSJ seeks deputy ME for Japanese edition

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a deputy managing editor for its Japanese edition (http://jp.wsj.com/home-page).

The position will oversee a team of translators and editors to ensure they provide high-quality content in a timely manner that serve the needs of both our consumer and professional products.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with ideas in particular to further grow the readership of the WSJ Japan website, through social media, mobile devices and other innovative means. The deputy managing editor will set an example for others with high caliber of editing and translation skills as well as news judgment.

Job Requirements:

  • At least five years of experience in business journalism and translation
  • Fluency in Japanese and English
  • Several years’ experience working in an online newsroom and knowledge of how a news website operates
  • Prior experience running a team will be a big plus
