WSJ seeks deputy editor for video in Hong Kong

The Wall Street Journal is seeking an experienced journalist to lead in the production of video coverage in Asia.

Our ideal candidate is comfortable both on and behind the camera, anchoring shows, produced pieces and breaking news segments, as well as formulating and assigning stories to our staff video journalists and freelancers.

Our deputy editor will be a seasoned, hands-on leader who is willing to head to wherever a big, breaking story is, but also know when to lead coverage from regional headquarters. We want an innovator who has infectious, positive energy and is willing to mentor, teach, edit and produce on any given day.

We need someone with strong news chops and the ability to see where a story is on the first day and where it’s headed a day or a week later. You’ll need to have longterm vision for our long-form produced pieces, but also be up both on the zeitgeist in the tech and luxury worlds in Asia and what the top regional and global stories are.

He/ She should have advanced knowledge of Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere. Deep understanding of DSLR-based workflow is preferred.
