WSJ seeks Brazil bureau chief

The Wall Street Journal seeks a dynamic and experienced journalist to lead its Brazil bureau. The successful candidate will be an outstanding writer, leader and thinker to take charge of reporters in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia, and shape our coverage of this fascinating country.

Experience writing in depth on business, finance, economics and politics is required, as is experience with breaking, real-time journalism that values scoops and smart analysis of breaking events. Portuguese is a plus, but a background in any other Romance language also will help.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
