China’s financial system runs the gamut from some of the world’s biggest banks and insurers to shadow lenders and creative fintech startups.
The reporter’s mission is to dive into that interconnected world looking for the macro trends that matter to a global business audience and the human stories that bring the big issues alive.
The ideal candidate is a quick-learner and a team player, with a good grasp of the fundamentals of economics and finance. The candidate should have the drive to land big stories and break news and the ability to write fluidly.
Fluency in Chinese is a plus, not a must. This Beijing-based position requires inventiveness, connective thinking, humor and above all a willingness to rise to the challenge of reporting on an emerging economy.
