WSJ seeks assistant managing editor in San Fran

Startups are one of the hottest areas of finance at the moment, with the likes of Airbnb, Uber Technologies, WhatsApp and Xiaomi making waves around the world.

Venture capital is an important source of capital for this startup boom and we’re looking for an assistant managing editor to take charge of coverage for VentureWire, the leading newsletter covering venture capital financing, firms and investors.

The role involves managing a team of journalists, a newsletter and blog, and working closely with the Wall Street Journal technology team and with editors at sister publications covering private equity.

For this role we’re looking for an experienced manager and editor who is accustomed to working with reporters to direct coverage and to making decisions about publishing across multiple platforms. A close knowledge of technology news is important and a working knowledge of venture capital is preferable but not essential. The position is in San Francisco and entails managing staff on both coasts.
