The Wall Street Journal is seeking an aggressive, experienced reporter to cover immigration policy and the Department of Homeland Security.

The reporter would be expected to become an expert in all aspects of immigration policy, from asylum and refugee seekers to issues regarding employment visas that are important to our business-oriented readers. The job also would involve partnering with reporters based in Texas and California to produce stories on the southern border and the president’s negotiations with Congress to secure it.

The reporter also would be expected to be deeply sourced within other DHS operations and its leadership. The position will be based in the Politics and Policy team in the Washington bureau, and would include breaking news and enterprise pieces.

Applications should include a resume, cover letter and up to five published clips.
