The editor will be responsible for helping set reporter priorities, conceive of great stories — with an emphasis on scoops and deeply-reported analysis — and elevate copy to the highest standards of WSJ journalism.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the subject matter, but that is not mandatory. The remit covers the Justice Department (criminal, civil and anti-trust), the FBI and the special counsel, as well as their relations with Congress and the White House. It also covers Supreme Court decisions and trends and helps oversee coverage of broader issues involving the federal judiciary nationwide.
The Justice & Judiciary Editor will be based in Washington, D.C., and report to the Washington Bureau Chief.
