WSJ seeks an Asia debt reporter

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a reporter to cover Asia’s all-important debt markets, with a principal focus on Chinese bonds, credit and consumer finance.

There are few stories more consequential in global finance than China’s epic credit binge, driven in no small part by technology.

Are we looking at the future of finance or the next financial crisis? This reporter will run down the leads and be the first to spot any cracks.

We’re seeking a seasoned correspondent who can deliver sophisticated coverage of Asia’s bond, derivative, credit and money markets, but who is also capable of translating their complex and opaque signals for a wider audience.

Experience reporting from the region and proficiency in an Asian language are preferred.
