You’ll be a leader on our robust Publishing Desk, which is at the center of the New York newsroom and works with global reporting bureaus to edit, polish, code and publish copy on deadline across our various platforms. A deep interest in all areas of news, in particular national, political, world and business, is encouraged.
You’ll independently make decisions about breaking news, coordinate with coverage chiefs on strategy on the top news of the day and work closely with our news bureaus as well as visuals and platform editors. You’ll also oversee projects, assist with logistics and planning, direct the work of colleagues, communicate with compassion and help other editors grow.
You should be a digitally minded journalist who is passionate about providing top-quality stories to readers and who understands the importance of elevating audience engagement and applying SEO skills in every edit. We value collaboration, creativity and an appreciation of innovative storytelling techniques.
This role requires schedule flexibility, including weekends. You will report to the Editing Chief. You may start this position remotely but will eventually be based in our New York office.
