The Wall Street Journal is looking for a full-time senior editor to join Mansion, our luxury real estate section.
You will edit stories on the economics of real estate, focusing on high-profile transactions and property news. Your key responsibility will be to edit breaking news on high-end homes being bought and sold for our digital platforms. The job requires a lot of judgment and experience in finance, sourcing and other deadline legal and ethical judgments.
You will:
-Edit and help our reporters fact check multiple high-end real estate deals every day
-Ensure the voice, tone and standards of the Wall Street Journal are consistently accurate and fair, objective and of high quality
-Help to create innovative approaches to covering real estate trends/issues/themes
-Thrive in an atmosphere of constant change and embrace experimentation
You have:
-Experience editing complex subject matter and an attention to detail
-Ability to edit quickly and accurately and to give clear direction and feedback to others
-Ability to identify potential legal issues
-Ease with editing different types of media, e.g., text, graphics, captions
-Ability to comfortably balance multiple tasks and responsibilities
while meeting deadlines
-3 to 5 years of editing experience
You will report to the Mansion Editor. While you will likely start working remotely, you will eventually be based in our New York City office.
