Based in Chicago, this high-profile beat includes responsibility for big companies like McDonald’s and Starbucks, along with dozens of other companies from Chipotle to Papa John’s. The reporter must have the ability to source deeply within and around the companies and deliver agenda-setting coverage in the forms of both news and enterprise.
The successful candidate will be expected to break significant news and also offer sharp insight on broad corporate, technology and cultural themes across the food industry. The reporter should be comfortable with and interested in multiple forms of storytelling.
Prior experience in the field is welcome, but more important are strong instincts for news and scoops and demonstrated reporting skills.
